This Rainbow Elephant bush is also known as Portulacaria afra 'Variegata'. It is a drought tolerant succulent that originally comes from South Africa. It is a bonsai-like slow growing multi-branched succulent with attractive reddish-brown stems and smooth glossy green and cream leaves.
It grows well in indirect bright light and makes for a great indoor plant.
Its flowers are lavender and pink, star shaped, and usually appear in the spring and early summer.
Although they are drought tolerant, be sure to water at least once a week from spring to fall. And in the winter months, suspend watering as it will go dormant.
